High Power Rocketry

Level 1

I built my first high-power rocket from a LOC-IV X2 kit and debuted it at Richard Bong State Recreation Area to get a Level 1 certification from the National Association for Rocketry.

The rocket's retention harness broke on its first flight (shown on the left), but I successfully repaired it in the field and launched it again to earn my Level 1 certification.

Level 2

I made a few upgrades between my Level 1 and Level 2 certification flights, not least of which was a new paint job.

The flight was successful and I recieved my Level 2 certification.

And according to my simulation, the rocket ascended over 4000 feet.

Unfortunately there was one complication...
